About Our School

James Madison Middle School is one of five middle schools in Roanoke City School District. James Madison will challenge our students of all abilities to achieve excellence in a wide range of academic and cultural activities.  We will equip our students for the demands and opportunities of the twenty-first century by offering a differentiated, effective and rigorous curriculum as an entitlement to all.

 

A professional and highly motivated staff, in partnership with parents and community stakeholders, will encourage all students to achieve their full potential. In a disciplined, safe, and nurturing environment, based on mutual respect, all students will be valued as individuals in their own right and their academic and community development encouraged.

 

James Madison Middle School is home to the Matadors, and is led by Principal Katt Duncan and Assistant Principals Elizabeth Garst and Mikayla McMullen.
